Tailored leisure time - or not!

Life is good when work and leisure are in balance. Spending time together with family and friends is valuable. One person relaxes best alone on a leisurely hike, while another requires new people and action. The best option is what feels good for you.

In Rauma you wont' have to struggle to find something to do on your free days or in the evenings after work. The easiest solution is to put your trainers on and head outdoors. Cycling and Nordic walking are fun and efficient ways to exercise anywhere - no-one will stare.

The Rauma region offers the following for your leisure time: sights, versatile sport activities, organised sporting events, culture, concerts, cinema, theatre, shopping... almost anything. You can do very different things in summer and winter. Cross country skiing and skating either outside or inside is fun for the whole family. The most courageous go swimming outside in winter...

In the summer the sea beckons. Lovely beaches, open-air swimming pools, and seaside saunas are available free of charge. Rauma also offers memorable experiences, such as jet safaris, diving, fishing, and boat trips. Short cruises take you to the nearby islands.

Seaside saunas

The town offers cosy seaside saunas not far from the town centre for local residents' recreation. The public seaside saunas are open from 1 June to 31 August on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. and on Sundays between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Use of these saunas is free of charge.

1. Matenereenpää seaside sauna
- in Sorkka at the end of the Puulu road, located approximately 13 km from the centre of town
- for approximately 5-6 people, with changing rooms, and a room with a fireplace approximately 25 m². with wood-heated sauna stove, water boiler, and artesian well.
 
2. Pitkäjärvi seaside sauna
- in Vasarainen, located approximately 12 km from the town centre.
- for approximately 5-6 people, with changing rooms, and a room with a fireplace approximately 25 m². with wood-heated sauna stove with water heating, gas stove, and electricity.
 
3. Noitajärvi seaside sauna
- in Vermuntila, located approximately 13 km from the town centre.
- sauna I for approximately 5 people, sauna II for approximately 4 people (both with changing rooms). with wood-heated sauna stoves and barbecue hut.

4. Lillonkari seaside sauna
- in Unaja along the Pyhäranta road. Approximately 12 km from the centre of town.
- for approximately 5-6 people, with changing rooms, and fireplace room approximately 25 m². with wood-heated sauna stove, electric cooker, and barbecue hut.

5. Kaljasjärvi seaside sauna

- in Kodisjoki, approximately 300 m from the village to the Ihode road, follow the road 1 km.
- with 2 saunas, wood-heated sauna stove, fireplace room, kitchenette, cooking stove, micro-wave oven, refrigerator, electricity, barbecue hut.
