Bus connections
Bus connections from Rauma to the Helsinki region, to the central cities of
the neighbouring provinces and elsewhere in Finland are excellent. The
regional ticket system that covers almost the whole province makes
travelling inexpensive even on a daily basis. The system has clearly
increased passenger volumes. In Rauma, local bus services are provided by
Oras Liikenne Oy and Satakunnan Liikenne Oy.

Ferry traffic
Car ferries running between Turku and Stockholm provide an inexpensive and
pleasant way to travel to and from Sweden. The two ferry companies, Silja
Line and Viking Line both have morning and evening departures from Turku and
Stockholm, and the ferries are used both for passenger car traffic and for
heavy traffic. Public connecting services are excellent both in Finland and
in Sweden. Cruises are also a popular form of free-time entertainment.
Express buses run directly from Rauma to the ferry terminals in Turku. In
addition to the car ferries, there are regular cargo ship lines from Turku
and Uusikaupunki to Sweden and Germany.

Air connections
The nearest airport is in Pori. A flight from Pori to Helsinki takes 45
minutes. To reach the international airport of Turku from Rauma takes an
hour. There are three direct daily flights from Turku to the international
airport of Copenhagen, which provides excellent connections to all over the
world.

Rail traffic
The track network of Tampere/Pori – Rauma has been renovated and electrified
and at present, ca. 60% of the export shipments through the Port of Rauma,
are transported to Rauma by rail. Passenger traffic from Rauma is organised
by a bus service from the VR terminal on Karjalankatu Street in Rauma to the
train service in Kokemäki. Buses provide a connecting service to the trains
so there is no waiting time in Kokemäki.
