Tammela

Old Rauma's renovation centre, Tammela is an operational exhibition centre in the heart of Old Rauma, a few blocks south of the marketplace. Tammela shows how an old, culturally significant log house is renovated and maintained.

There is a permanent exhibition on UNESCO's World Heritage List sites, in addition to temporary exhibitions on Old Rauma and traditional construction. Also, new construction using old building materials and methods takes place in Tammela. There are occasional work demonstrations in which the audience can take part as well. Tammela answers visitors' questions concerning traditional construction.
