Thousands of pansies beautify the town

With summer approaching, Rauma streets will again be decorated with several flower plantings. Normally the planting starts before 1 May, but due to the late arrival of spring this year, they were started in the first week of May.

The 2006 plantings are based on the plans made last year. There will be altogether some 20 000 summer flowers, including 4000 pansies, all over the town. The planting work will be complete by Midsummer.

In the town centre, the flower plantings will largely follow the pattern of previous years, but in other places, the number of flowers will be slightly reduced. The summer flowers should remain in place until removal in late September.
