Open Door Event at the Port of Rauma

The Port of Rauma Open Door Event will be organised on Saturday, 30 September 2006 at 10.00-14.00. Free entrance for all (children under 10-years old must be accompanied by an adult).

Bus transport from Karin kenttä (in Sahankatu) to the harbour approximately every five minutes from 9.45 to 13.00. The last bus will arrive back at Karin kenttä at 14.15. Car parking also at Karin kenttä. Due to security reasons, moving in the harbour area is allowed only within a restricted area and transit from one place to another is possible only by bus.

The event includes

• presentation of some harbour machinery and loading methods
• harbour area company presentations
• Customs drug dog show
• transillumination of trucks with the help of Customs mobile equipment
• Finnish Coast Guard’s ship, Alfons Håkans harbour tugboat, pilot cutter and both Police and Finnish Lifeboat Society equipment. Possibility to go aboard some of the vessels
• Finnish Red Cross first aid activities
• Rauma Rescue Department oil destruction equipment
• the Seamen’s Mission will be open with the opportunity to buy their products.

Pea soup, buns and juice will be served.
