User rights

The library is open for everyone. The library can offer best possible service only if the users also commit to following certain rules.

A library card will be issued to children aged 6-14 only under a parent/guardian guarantee. Library cards will be issued to those aged 15 and over, who can prove their identity and who, by signing, commit to following the library user regulations.

User’s responsibility

The library card must be presented every time material is borrowed. The card is personal. Borrowers will be held responsible for the items borrowed on their card. Guarantors.take similar responsibility.

You must inform the library immediately of any change of name or address, or if you lose your card. If you lose or damage your card, the library will give you a new one upon payment.

You will lose your borrower’s rights at every Satakirjastot library if you do not return your loans and/or if you fail to pay your fines.
You will regain your borrower’s rights by returning all expired loans or making due compensation and by paying all the fees prescribed by the library.

The library personnel have the right to request customers creating a disturbance to leave the library premises. Repeated violations of the rules may lead to cancellation of borrower's rights or the customer may be denied entrance to the library. The customer's access to library services may also be restricted.

The customer uses library property on his/her own responsibility.

Loan period

Books 28 days / 14 days / 7 days
CDs and CD-ROMs 28 days
Newspapers and magazines 14 days
Video cassettes and DVDs 14 days

The borrower will get a receipt stating the due dates.
You can renew a loan either at the library, on the phone or on the Internet  for a maximum of eight (8) times if the material has not been reserved by another person.

You must return the loan before closing time on the due date. When returning  items be sure to ask for a receipt if you want one. You may return your loans at any public library in Satakunta area.

Expired loans and overdue fees

The library will charge a penalty fee for expired loans immediately after the due date. For the items borrowed on the library bus the penalty will be charged one week after the due date. The first reminder for an expired loan is sent a week after the due date and the second reminder four weeks after the due date.

Exceeding the debt limit (10 €) will lead to losing borrowing rights.

Bills

A bill for the items that have not been returned will be sent 10 weeks after the due date. At this time, the borrowing rights of the customer will be cancelled.

Material reservation

It is possible to reserve material against payment. You can also make a reservation from an other public library belonging to the Satakirjastot net library.

Interlibrary service

Such material that the public libraries in Satakunta area do not own will be obtained from other libraries in accordance with the interlibrary service rules and other terms of the lending library. The service is subject to a fee and the customer has to have library user rights.

Data protection

The library customer register is exclusively used in loan control. Register information will not be conveyed outside the library service. In accordance with the Personal Data Act, every customer has the right to check their details in the customer register after having proven their identity.
