Council for the Disabled

The Rauma Council for the Disabled is a cooperative body of disabled people’s organisations.

Its tasks are

to promote cooperation between the authorities, disabled people and disabled people’s organisations,
to monitor the development of disabled people’s needs,
to promote disabled people’s opportunities to participate in and influence decision-making in local government,
to monitor the development of services, support measures and other benefits for disabled people,
to make initiatives and proposals and
to give statements to the municipal authorities.

The Council is composed of six members, who rotate, representing the various organisations of disabled people. The secretary is the organisation coordinator.
