Day care and education

Application period for early childhood education places in autumn 2024 is 4.3.-17.3.2024.

The application is primarily made online using the electronic early childhood education application in the eAsiointi.

If the child already has a place in early childhood education , there is no need to apply for the place again.

If logging in to the electronic application is not possible, you can also apply for a place using an electronic form that does not require identification. The epalvelu form can be sent either electronically or printed, filled in by hand and mailed to the address found on the form. Paper forms can also be picked up and returned to the city’s service point (Pyyrman address, Valtakatu 2 A).

You can request a place in early childhood education  from a specific daycare centre. The wish for a family daycare provider is written in the additional information of the application.

Decisions of daycare places  will be sent to families electronically via eService at the beginning of June at the latest. In the absence of an e-mail address, the decision will be sent to your home address by letter.

Places in private early childhood education are applied directly from private day care centers.  A service voucher is available in private daycare centres, which can be applied from the City of Rauma as soon as a place in a private day care centre has been confirmed.

If the child also has an application for municipal day care, the application will be cancelled when the family accepts a place at a private service voucher day care centre.

Possible inquiries related to early childhood education places can be made by email to or by phone at 040 1729 455.
