The plots and building sites owned by the City of Rauma are usually rented for 60 years. The leasehold can be transferred to a third party without consulting the city. With a few exceptions, the tenant has a right to purchase the plot as it is built.
The city of Rauma charges the rent for the leased plot in accordance with the lease agreement.
The tenant is obliged to apply for registration of a special right from the National Land Survey of Finland. The registration must be applied within six months from the date of the creation of the right (e.g. signing the contract).
