Specificities of the city of Rauma

The City of Rauma is located on the west coast of Finland. Rauma’s special features include two UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the well-preserved wooden house district of Old Rauma and the Bronze Age cemetery site of Sammallahdenmäki.

Rauma is an active entrepreneurial and industrial city. During the summer, the Lace Week brings together a large number of tourists of all ages. The wellbeing of the local population is based on a vibrant employment situation, active cultural and tourist services, outdoor and sports facilities and a wide range of leisure activities.

The City of Rauma’s strategy for the whole community is a prosperous Rauma. The Wellbeing Programme brings together key wellbeing indicators and outlines priorities and practices for wellbeing management. The programme is evaluated annually as part of the budget process.
