The Lace Town Christmas begins with the Christmas opening on Saturday, November 25, 2023, when the Christmas lights of Old Rauma will also be turned on. The lights will be on during the twilight hours.

This year, 14 trees in Savila Park will be illuminated with warm-toned light ribbons. Additionally, the park area will feature three-meter-high illuminated angel wings and two charming illuminated deers.

“The luminous wings serve as a stylish backdrop for photos and create a magical atmosphere in the beautiful park,” says Sanja Pallassalmi, the producer of Christmas in Lace Town.

The Market Square will also bask in Christmas light – striking light curtains will be installed on the market canopies and sales booths. In addition, the Christmas Market will be adorned with wooden gates fitting the style of Old Rauma, which will be festively decorated. The gates were made by local carpenter Kaarlo Kaila.

The festive Christmas tree alley leading from the market square to the Christmas Elf Courtyard in Tammela will be covered with a light canopy, this time almost entirely covering Vähäraastuvankatu. The illuminated Christmas Elf Courtyard in Tammela can be admired from November 25, 2023, to January 2, 2024, from 2 PM to 9 PM at Eteläpitkäkatu 17.

Kitukränni will once again be adorned with the light and sound art installation “Finland’s Smallest Christmas Street” by visual artist Jaakko Niemelä.

The traditional Christmas lights will again shine above Kauppakatu and Kuninkaankatu. The Christmas tree at the Market Square will be lit in the usual manner, and the lace light artwork will be projected onto the facade of the Old Town Hall.

The installation of the lights is currently underway. Vertek Oy is responsible for the installation of the lights.
