City’s construction sites advance as winter approaches

Rauma has multiple ongoing construction sites and some of them are set to be completed in the upcoming weeks.

Renovations at the Suvitie parking area are nearing completion, and will be inspected on 18 November. The gravel surfaced parking area near Kiikartorni lookout tower was overhauled and paved. Older trees were removed and new ones planted. At the same time a wooded area nearby was made into a parking area to expand the space. This area was left as a gravel surface, and boat trailers can also be parked there. The new parking zones have a combined 112 parking squares.

Street and water supply renovations in Purjehtijankatu are also set to be completed. Inspection and reception will be on 27 November. The street department will begin basic renovations on the east side of Syvärauma in the winter.

Street and water supply renovations on schedule in the city center

In the city center in the Länsiranta area street and water supply renovations proceed on schedule. During these renovations they will also extend to Luoteisväylä. Luoteisväylä will be closed between Karjalankatu and Valtakatu for approximately two weeks in November-December. More accurate information will be given closer to the time.

Basic renovations continue in Sampaanala

The street department has continued infrastructure renovations in Tuomolanmäki with construction in Rinnepolku, Tuomolanpolku and Tuomolantie. Structural layers of the streets, water suply and lighting will be redone. The work will continue until winter arrives. Paving and finishing will be done in the spring.
