Extensive mask recommendation still in effect in Rauma and Satakunta

The Satakunta regional infectious disease prevention team still recommends extensive use of masks in all of Satakunta, despite the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare mitigating the national mask recommendation on 30 September. Satakunta is still in the spreading phase of the pandemic and the epidemic situation is concerning.

The City of Rauma follows guidelines given by the regional team. Mask recommendation for people over 12 years of age is still in effect in schools and in public indoor events. The recommendation also applies to situations where keeping safe distances is difficult.

In addition, it is recommended to use masks in public transport and in social and health care facilities.

People are recommended to get vaccinated

According to the regional team, a significant amount of people in Satakunta are still unvaccinated. Rauma healthcare services actively encourages people to get vaccinated in order to reach adequate vaccination coverage. First vaccine doses are available without appointments on the 4th, 8th, and 10th of October from 9 AM to 3 PM. The events are held on department T0 of the health care center on Steniuksenkatu 2.
