Rauma is participating in the 100 reasons to travel in Finland campaign of the Finnish Association of Tourism Organisations Suoma ry. The 100syyta.fi website has compiled a number of interesting destinations in Finland.
The national campaign includes the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Old Rauma and Sammallahdenmäki and the beautiful Rauma archipelago. The city festival Pitsiviikko has also been highlighted as a destination card. Last year, Pitsiviikko was one of the most viewed destinations on the campaign site.
– We welcome everyone to discover our enchanting world heritage and archipelago sites. Lace Week in July offers experiences for the whole family, Tourism Manager Irene Villanen says.
According to Villanen, domestic tourism plays a major role, as the early summer and local events in particular attract many domestic tourists to Rauma.
– In addition to events, Rauma also offers an excellent summer theatre programme. International visitors mainly arrive in August, Villanen adds.
