The traditional Jouluilo, Christmas Joy, Christmas gift collection will be held again this year in the Rauma area. The collection is organised by the Etelätuuli Family Centre (formerly Nortamo Family Centre) of the Satakunta wellbeing services county. The aim of the collection is to provide Christmas presents for children in families where the financial situation of the family makes it challenging to buy a present for the child.
– In the run-up to Christmas, it is good to remember that some children live their Christmas in an unequal position and that not all children take Christmas presents for granted. This is why it is great that this year we can once again organise the gift collection, which has already become familiar in Rauma,” says Mari Bryggare, a student welfare officer at the Etelätuule family centre.
The collection collects donations to provide gifts for children under the age of 18 from underprivileged families in Rauma.
The child or young person can submit a gift request using the form on the Satakunta wellbeing services county website, together with their guardian or with the help of a professional who helps the family. Gift wishes can be submitted between 1 November and 5 December. Christmas donations will be accepted from the beginning of December. If you would like to donate a Christmas gift to the children of a deprived family, you can deliver it to the Rauma Youth Chamber of Commerce collection point in the lobby of Rauma Prisma from 1-4 December to 7-10 December.
If there are any gifts left over from the collection, they will be delivered to children in need through the Rauma area’s child protection and family centre. The collection is organised by the Etelätuule Family Centre in the Satakunta Welfare Region in cooperation with the Rauma Youth Chamber of Commerce.
