Seven new Covid infections diagnosed in Rauma shipyard

Attention Blue

The city of Rauma reported about Covid-cases in Rauma shipyard during the last week. 7 new Covid infections were diagnosed after tests taken on Tuesday and before noon Wednesday. The seven new cases brings the total of diagnosed infections to 54.

Extensive testing of personnel will continue for the rest of the week. Tested personnel will be sent home into self-imposed quarantine until they get their test results.

Those who test positive will be placed in isolation.

Those who are determined exposed by infection trackers will be placed under quarantine for 14 days regardless of test results.

Some of the samples will also be tested for mutations. If mutated viruses are discovered, the precautions are the same as with the normal cases.

Rauma healthcare services track infections together with the doctor in charge of infectious diseases from Satakunta hospital district and shipyard operators in order to severe the infection chains.

Rauma healthcare services emphasize that if a person quarantined falls ill, they must go get tested. However, getting tested will not shorten the quarantine.
The incubation period for Covid-19 is usually 4 to 5 days, but can vary from 1 to 14. If the exposed person displays even mild symptoms, such as runny nose, cough, sore throat, fever, loss of taste or smell, or diarrhea in some cases, they must be tested immediately.
