You can marvel at the Christmas calendar windows of Old Rauma starting from Friday, December 1. The first window will be set up at Vanhankirkonkatu 13. New windows will open daily in the style of an advent calendar.
The 24 participants each design and create their own unique Christmas window decoration, which will be visible to passersby until January 6.
The Christmas calendar windows can be identified by a number displayed in the window, indicating the date of the calendar. The locations of these windows can be found on a map, available as a poster in the yard of Old Rauma’s Tammela at Eteläpitkäkatu 17, and on the wall of Spärri at Kuninkaankatu 10.
The map is also published on the pitsikaupunginjoulu.fi website, as well as the Old Rauma Association’s Facebook page and Instagram account. Daily photos of the windows will be posted on the Old Rauma Association’s social media channels.
“The Christmas spirit rises when you admire the atmospheric settings created by the makers of the Christmas calendar windows during an evening walk. The Old Rauma Association hopes that people will also pay attention to the interesting houses and details of our World Heritage site,” says Marjut Laine, the Christmas calendar coordinator from the Old Rauma Association.
The Christmas calendar windows, related to the Advent season, are organized by the Old Rauma Association.
