The exhibition “Let’s Have a Wedding” will open at the Marela Museum in Rauma on Friday 28 April at 12. The shipowner’s home museum is located at Kauppakatu 24.
The new exhibition presents local wedding memories, treasures from the museum’s collections and West Finnish wedding traditions from the 19th century to the 1990s.
The idea for the wedding-related exhibition came from museum curator Satu-Miia Rajamäki. She has been studying the wedding traditions of Satakunta in her studies.
The exhibition also features a man’s borrowed wedding suit from the Lappi Local Heritage Museum.
