The New Resident’s Evening was held on October 1st in Service point Pyyrman. During the evening the attendees received information about Rauma and the city’s services.

Chairman of the city board Kalle Leppikorpi alongside director Sari Salo opened the evening by welcoming all participants and giving a brief introduction of Rauma. Leppikorpi also told about new projects happening in the city, such as the Kari campus. When completed the campus will include for example new sports facilities and a swimming hall.

Shannon from Canada and Anton from Germany were among the attendees of the evening. They moved to Rauma a month ago, and have been enjoying their stay.

”Most of our time has been spent settling in and just figuring out basic everyday things,” Anton said.

”For example recycling here is a lot more advanced than what we’re used to, so that takes some time,” Shannon added.

After the event in Pyyrman the participants got the chance to go on a guided bus tour around Rauma to see more of the city and to get a more complete view of the places to visit and services to take advantage of.
