Old Rauma has been nominated as Finnish Tourist Destination of the Year at the Finnish Travel Gala 2023. In addition, the Rauma hotels Kalliohovi and Raumanlinna are nominated in the Accommodation Establishment of the Year category.
The Finnish Travel Gala is an annual awards gala that honours the tourism achievements and phenomena of the year. The Gala takes place in November. The winners are chosen by public vote. Voting is open until 31 August at http://www.finnishtravelgala.fi/Voittajan-aanestys.
The nominations came as a pleasant surprise to Rauma’s tourism manager Irene Villanen and tourism advisor Johanna Sainio
– Anyone can nominate items for the Finnish Travel Gala at the beginning of the summer. It’s great that people have actively suggested local destinations. It’s really great to have Rauma represented in several categories,” Villanen and Sainio say.
The awards will be presented in nine different categories, including Domestic Destination/Attraction of the Year, Accommodation Establishment of the Year, Travel Agency/Tour Operator of the Year, Transport Company of the Year, Tourism Innovation of the Year and Tourism Influencer of the Year.
