Social services and health care

The Child and Youth Outpatient Clinic offers services of special health care, family-oriented treatment and guidance and counselling for children and youths with their families. Treatment for a wide range of illnesses or medical problems experienced by children and youths is offered at the clinic. For example, immunotherapy or desensitization treatments are offered, allergy and asthma tests organized and ultrasonographies (ultra sound examinations) of heart conducted. The diabetes nurse of the clinic also visits day care units and schools to educate the staff in caretaking for the diabetic children/youths.

Professionals at the clinic include two special health care doctors, three nurses and a clinic secretary. A referral from either a basic or private health care doctor is required to access treatment at this clinic.

In case the medical condition of the child/youth requires inpatient treatment, it will mainly be implemented at the Paediatric Ward of the Satasairaala (Sairaalantie 3, 28500 Pori).
