Physiotherapy for children

Physiotherapy for children under school age

At the physiotherapist’s reception child’s motor development, e.g. movement and posture, is assessed compared to age-appropriate level. If problems are detected, guidance and instruction are offered to parents/guardians and periodic physiotherapy sessions provided for the child, if considered necessary.

Physiotherapy aims to support the normal development of the child as well as to prevent problems that might impair daily overall performance or movement. The parents/guardians are offered guidance in best supporting the healthy development of the child’s motor skills.

The children’s physiotherapy sessions are free of charge for the client. A recommendation from a child health care nurse or a referral from a basic or special health care doctor is required to access  the service.
