From 1 January 2023, Satakunta wellbeing services county is responsible for social and health services.
Social services and health care

Youth team is a service aimed for youths living in Rauma, who are experiencing varying mental health issues of trouble in psychological or psycho-social well-being. Target group of the team are adolescents and young adults aged between 13 and 22 who do not have treatment contacts organized elsewhere.

The appointment times focus on building a comprehensive, nuanced understanding of the client’s circumstances through clinical interviewing, providing a venue for supportive dialogue and evaluating in collaboration with the client the need for further psychological/psychiatric treatment options. The service is free of charge for the client, confidentiality is respected in the conversations. Referral from another health care professional is not required to make an appointment, but the team members cooperate closely with other health care professionals to enable further referrals if such are considered useful in order to e.g. conduct more medical examinations.

Situations in which a youth or his/her family member could contact the team may include (but are not limited to):

  • Troubles related to school / going to school
  • Challenges experienced in the processes related to growing up
  • Challenges experienced in social relationships or family dynamics

Youth team professionals include a medical doctor, two public health nurses and a psychologist, last of whom serves upper secondary school and vocational school students.

Please note: university students’ health care is organized by the YTHS.
