Physiotherapy for children under school age

At the physiotherapist’s reception child´s motor development, e.g. movement and posture, is assessed compared to age-appropriate level. If problems are detected, guidance and instruction are offered to parents or guardians and periodic physiotherapy sessions provided for the child, if considered necessary.

Physiotherapy aims to support the normal development of the child as well as to prevent problems that might impair daily overall performance or movement. The parent or guardians are offered guidance in best supporting the healthy development of the child’s motor skills.

A recommendation from a child health centre nurse or a referral from a basic or special health care doctor is required to access the service.

Physiotherapy for children in primary school aged 7-12

At the physiotherapist’s reception the posture and musculoskeletal system of the child or youth is examined and instruction offered regarding their well-being. Rehabilitation aims to prevent problems potentially hampering physical performance or functioning in advance as early as possible.

A recommendation from a school nurse or a referral from a basic or special health care doctor is required to access the service.

The children’s physiotherapy sessions are free of charge for the client.
