Disability services
The purpose / aim of the disabled service is to promote and monitor the living conditions of people with disability problems as well as to prevent and eliminate the emergence of disadvantage that limit the disabled person`s activities.
The city of Rauma provides special care services and expertise, such as rehabilitation counseling, housing work and social worker services for the mentally handicapped, as well as learning, understanding, and communication for those in need. In addition, the city purchases special care services from the Satakunta Hospital District and from private service providers as well as from other municipalities.
Services for people with severe disabilities, which the municipality has arrange for are accommodation, home-work alteration, transport services, personal assistance and day-to-day work.
Distinctive services are intended for all people with disabilities and are provided within the limits of appropriations.
