Rauma Art School

The central operating idea of the Rauma Art School is to strengthen, expand and deepen the students’ knowledge and skills of visual arts and to create a lifelong love of making and experiencing art. The methods of teaching encourage activity, interaction and the development of creative thinking. The studies support the students’ growth, self-knowledge, the construction of identity and cultural competence by means of visual art.

Application for the academic year 2023-2024

To apply to the Rauma Art School, please register in the application queue. New students aged 7-17 will be admitted to groups on a first-come, first-served basis. The next application period is from May 2nd 9AM to August 17th 2023 2PM. The registration link will open at the end of April 2023.

If you are 7-17 years old and interested in studying at the Rauma Art School, please call the school director (tel 0447933427) or send an email (kuvataidekoulu@rauma.fi) to ask about possible vacancies after the application period.

Tuition fees

The tuition fee is 240 €/ academic year. The payment is invoiced in two instalments: 120 € in the autumn and 120 € in the spring. You are eligible for a discount of 20 € if your sibling also studies in the Rauma Art School. Students are entitled to a discount of 20 € if they also study in the Rauma Theatre School or in Taitava Craft School..

Coming soon: information about autumn 2023

The academic year 2023-2024 starts on Monday 21.8.2023. Continuing students will be enrolled in the course they registered for in the spring. New students will be selected from the application queue in the order of registration at the end of August. On Friday August 18 2023, those on the application queue will be informed whether they have been accepted to study in the Rauma Art School.

It is also worth registering in the application queue later in the academic year, because when potential student places become available, students will be taken from the queue in the order of application for a course according to their age group.

 

Rauma Theatre School

Basic education in theatre arts is a goal-oriented, step-by-step approach to theatre and expressive arts education for children and young people. The teaching is varied and taught by theatre professionals.

The Rauma theatre School includes a total of 500 hours of study, which can be completed in about seven years. In theatre studies, self-expression, concentration, creativity, personality, attention to others and the ability to perceive oneself and the world around one develop in parallel.

Most of the teaching takes place in Kellariteatteri, address Pursikatu 4 (entrance from Urheilukatu). Some performances can also take place in different events and locations.
