Enrolment and course fees

You can enrol for the Rauma Adult Education Centre (RAEC)’s courses and lectures online via this link: Enrolment

Online registration for courses for the spring semester 2023 is now open.

You can register by calling tel. 044 793 4515 or 044 793 4517.

You can also register at the RAEC’s office, address Lyseokatu 2, during the office’s opening hours.

You can register as long as there is space available on the course.

Course fees

Each course has its own course fee, which is indicated in the course description. The fee does not usually include textbooks or supplies. Exceptions are mentioned in the course description. Supply fees are paid directly to the teacher of the course.

By registering for a course, you agree to pay the course fee regardless of your attendance to the course. The course fee can be paid online using an online banking system (OP, Nordea, Danske Bank, Säästöpankki, Handelsbanken, LähiTapiola, Pop, S-pankki) right after registration. Otherwise it will be invoiced after the course has started. You can pay the invoice in a bank or in the city service point Pyyrman (Valtakatu 2) by cash, with a debit card or by using your culture/sport benefit vouchers (ePassi, Smartum Kulttuuriseteli, Edenred Virikeseteli, Tyky-Kuntoseteli).

The course fee of a minor (people under the age of 18) will be charged to the guardian.

If you wish, you can pay the course fee of more than 70€ in two instalments. Please contact the RAEC’s office and remember to take into account any possible subsidies for the course fees.

Cancellation of registration and cancellation conditions

Cancellations can be made online or by contacting the Rauma Adult Education Centre’s office. Cancellations cannot be made to a teacher or by email. You can cancel a course place free of charge up to 7 days before the start of the course, after which an office fee of 10€ will be charged for cancellations made before the start of the course. If the cancellation is made after the course has started, or not at all, the full course fee will be charged.

All unpaid invoices will go to Sarastia Kuntaperintä Oy for collection. Please contact the Rauma Adult Education Centre’s office within one week of receiving your invoice if there are any problems with the invoice or if you need, for example, to reschedule the due date. For questions about the invoices after the due date, please contact Sarastia Kuntaperintä Oy Customer Service directly.

Course cancellation and refund of payment

Whether the course starts or if it needs to be cancelled is decided one week before the course or lecture starts. If there are enough participants, the course will start as planned. If the course does not start, those already enrolled will be informed of the cancellation.

You will not receive a separate notification when the course or lecture starts.

The course fee will only be refunded if the course is cancelled. If a course is cancelled due to a reduction in the number of students or if the student themselves drop out of the course, the remaining course fee will not be refunded. Students have the possibility to transfer to another course of the same price, provided that there are places available on the course. If the student wishes to transfer to a more expensive course, they will pay the price differential.

Grants for course fees

A voucher-type grant is awarded to unemployed students from the Finnish National Board of Education.

An unemployed person is defined by the Public Employment Service as a jobseeker who is without work and available for full-time work or who is waiting for an agreed job to start. Half the course fee for one course is eligible for the grant. You must register for the course before applying for the grant. To apply for a reduction in course fees, please contact the Rauma Adult Education office.

The student will be informed of the decision and the remainder of the course fee will be paid once a decision on the application has been taken.

Grants from the Student Association

Students can apply for a grant from the Rauma Adult Education’s Student Association for course fees or course supplies. The maximum grant is 50€/student/academic year (academic year = autumn semester and spring semester). The grant will be paid on receipt and the receipt must be attached to the application form. Forms are available at the Rauma Adult Education Centre (RAEC)’s office and on the website of the Student Association. The completed form should be returned to the RAEC office. For the 2023-2024 academic year, grants will only be awarded to students who have not received a grant from the Student Association during the 2022-2023 academic year. Students who received a grant in the autumn will not be awarded a grant in the spring. Applications must be submitted to the RAEC’s office by Friday 11 November 2022 for the autumn semester and by Thursday 14 April 2023 for the spring semester. All applicants will be informed of the decision by letter.
