CANCELLED – Selling Finland – Rock Theatre plays Genesis
t’s 50 years since the release of one of progressive rock’s most iconic albums, Selling England by the Pound. Considered by many to be the pinnacle of Genesis’ progressive career, the album features epic solos and strong musical compositions. The album’s themes include the lack of English popular culture and the increasing influence of Americanism.
Prog rock meets modern poetry meets visual arts
In a unique collaboration with artists Rosanna Fellman, Anna-Sofia Nylund and researcher Kaj Ahlsved, Rock Theatre has created an audiovisual concept that explores the themes of Selling England by the Pound, set in the present day. Have people learned from the mistakes of the past? Energy crises, class society, overconsumption, happiness and the search for identity?
