Sounds of Eurajoki – audioart exhibition

What does Eurajoki municipality sound like? What is the soundscape of Eurajoki and how is it created? In summaer 2022 art was used to answer these questions. Rauman elokuvakerho ry recorded the summer of Eurajoki with the help of Leader Ravakka theme project.

Artist-producer Timo Metsäjoki lead the project of recording the immaterial cultural capital of Eurajoki. As a result of a community art project the soundscape of Eurajoki was created. The local people of Eurajoki naturally took part of the project.

Metsäjoki, together with Eurajoki municipality’s Educational Industry, executed workshops and events to brief people to recording and delivering material with a low threshold. Both youth and seniors were encouraged to recording. Metsäjoki also recorded the soundscape of Eurajoki during the project himself.

The combination of the soundscape and documentary is displayed in a barn in Lahdenperä Camping, Verkkokarintie 606, in Eurajoki. The exhibition will be displayed in 14.-21.8.2022 during the openin hours of sauna:

Wednesday – Friday at 17-21 o’clock

Saturday – Sunday at 14-20 o’clock

The exhibition is free of charge.
