Time Travel 2020 -exhibition
Time Travel 2020, the 150th anniversary exhibition of the Finnish Antiquarian Society, will open in Rauma Museum’s Old Town Hall (Kauppakatu 13) on October 8th. The travelling exhibition has been brought to four locations (Oulu, Lohja, Valkeakoski and Rauma) of which Rauma Museum is the last. The exhibition was created in collaboration with the Picture Collections of the Finnish Heritage Agency.
Time Travel 2020 tells of the eight art historical expeditions made by the Finnish Antiquarian Society in 1871–1902. It raises the question of what is important to us now and what would we preserve.
The exhibition is based on Leena Elina Valkeapää’s study published in 2020, Saman taiteen lapset, Suomen Muinaismuistoyhdistyksen taidehistorialliset tutkimusretket 1871-1902 (“Children of the Same Art, Art Historical Expeditions of the Finnish Antiquarian Society 1871-1902”).
Entrance fees: adults 6 €/3 €, Museum Card, children/youths under 18 years free admission
