Curator’s tour to Noora Ylipieti’s Vulnerability exhibition

Noora Ylipieti’s 1000 vampire paintings and drawings capture the zeitgeist of the moment. The curatorial tour with art museum chief curator Heta Kaisto will explore the current issues in art raised by vampires. What did vampires mean in the Portuguese Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2022? Why have publishers declared “romantasy” to be the biggest, emerging trend in international literature at the moment? Why are vampires coming back? Why has an artist created a thousand vampires, and why does our time need the power of communities rather than individuals?
The curatorial tour will focus on queer, pop art, arcticism, gothic romanticism, nostalgia.
