Baltic Sea Day
The City of Rauma is once again participating in Baltic Sea Day celebrations on August 28th.

Baltic Sea Day
The Baltic Sea Day will be celebrated on Thursday, August 28th. The aim of this themed day is to inspire people to enjoy our unique home sea and to encourage actions that benefit the Baltic Sea. It also seeks to raise awareness of the sea’s nature, culture, and history.
The Baltic Sea Day, initiated by the John Nurminen Foundation, is celebrated annually on the last Thursday of August through various events and actions. In Rauma as well, Baltic Sea–related activities will take place throughout the day.

Clean Beach -campaign
The City of Rauma encourages everyone to take part in the Clean Beach -clean-up event on the Baltic Sea Day.
The Clean Beach -campaign, coordinated by the Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association, is a shoreline clean-up program aimed at cleaning beaches, collecting data on littering, and raising awareness about the state of coastal pollution.
Participating in Clean Beach is easy: organize your own clean-up effort at a beach of your choice. Detailed instructions can be found on the Clean Beach -website.
In the spirit of the Baltic Sea Day, the City of Rauma will lend litter pickers and trash bags to participants. Staff from the city’s Parks Department will distribute equipment at the parking area along Suvitie from 12:00 to 15:00 and provide guidance on where to leave the collected waste bags.

Well cover stickers around the city 18.–31.8.
Rauma’s street drains are being marked with colorful fish-shaped stickers as part of the Mahanpuruja muovista -campaign by the Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association. The aim is to draw the attention of passersby to the pathways litter takes and to encourage reducing pollution.
Spot the Pyyrman bike!
The City of Rauma’s service point’s Pyyrman bike will be cruising around the Old Rauma area from 12:00 to 15:00. Stop the bike, go fishing, identify Baltic Sea fish, and win Rauma-themed prizes.
At the same time, learn how you can help improve the state of the Baltic Sea.
