Creepy Carnival on Saturday, October 18.

Our autumn trip will take us to Särkänniemi and the Creepy Carnival on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Terrifying attractions come to life in the darkening evening and send shivers down even the bravest of spines.
The price of €50 includes bus travel and a carnival wristband, and is the same for all participants.
The carnival wristband includes:
– Admission to the amusement park
– Carnival program
– Use of amusement rides (subject to height restrictions)
– Aquarium
– Näsineula observation tower
– Planetarium shows
The fortune teller and horror attraction PHOBIA LAB are not included in the price of the wristband.
Departure at 2 p.m. from in front of the Äijänsuo training ice rink (Teollisuuskatu 19). In Lappi, express bus stop along highway 12, approx. 2:20 p.m. Return departure from Särkänniemi at 9 p.m.
Registration and payment via the city’s online store. Please indicate which location you will be boarding from.
Registration is open until October 12 or until all spots are filled. Please note that spots are limited!
Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a guardian, and those under the age of 18 must also provide their guardian’s contact details.
This trip is also smoke-free and alcohol-free.

Night at the youth center

This autumn, Viklo Youth Center on the Karin Campus will host its first ever sleepover on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, October 21–22. The event is closed, aimed at young people in grades 7–9, and there is room for the first 25 people to register. The registration link will open on Friday, October 3, at 4 p.m. You can find it in the link tree on Nuortenrauma’s Instagram bio or on the nuortenrauma.fi website.
The night will consist of a program planned in advance by the instructors, as well as activities decided on the spot. The campus goes dark on Thursday, October 23.

During the fall break, the Karin campus will be transformed into a house of horrors when we organize the “Kampus goes dark” event on Thursday, October 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. The event is intended for young people aged 12–19 and will feature at least thriller movie screenings, a haunted room, a costume contest, Halloween crafts, horror book recommendations from the Rauma Library, and an art exhibition by art school students. The Viklo youth center will be open throughout the event.

The horror book recommendations event is a chance to learn about horror books through a quiz, with a prize for the winner! The book recommendations event is organized by Rauma Main Library.

At the Viklo youth center, you can bake ghost muffins, do scary face painting, and play pool just like ordinary mortals.
4–8 p.m. Chamber of Horrors, Theater Space
Do you dare to step into a chilling room where anything or anyone could be waiting around the corner? The Chamber of Horrors is organized by the youth theater group of the adult education center.
4–8 p.m. Art exhibition, Lobby
In the lobby between the theater space and Viklo, you can admire horror-themed works by art school students.
4:30–6 p.m. Skull workshop, classroom D221
In the skull workshop, participants will draw and paint decorative skulls and skeletons using POSCA markers and acrylic paints, while learning about the Mexican holiday Día de Muertos. The workshop will be led by art school teacher Katariina Mannio-Turunen (visual artist YAMK / graphic artist).

Halloween disco for 5th and 6th graders on Friday, October 24.

There will be a spooky atmosphere at the Kuovi Youth Center on Friday, October 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. for Halloween Disco. The disco is intended for 5th and 6th graders, and admission is free. There will be fun activities related to the theme. More information will be available closer to the event on this page and on Nuortenrauma’s Instagram account.

Mix group for students in grades 7–9

The free MIX group introduces participants to a new hobby each time, together with youth workers. At the beginning of the season, participants will try out photography, mölkky, geocaching, cooking, and baking, and visit the Maritime Museum.
The meetings are held on Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at a location related to the theme. The locations vary, but the aim is to keep them close to the center of Rauma and upper secondary schools. The first meeting is on August 19 and will focus on photography.

Youth facilities will open in September!

The Viklo’s youth center will open its doors on Monday, September 8, and the Kuovi’s youth center on Friday, September 12. Viklo is open on weekdays from Monday to Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Kuovi is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The rainbow evenings will continue in autumn!

Rainbow evenings are held once a month on Wednesdays from 16-19 at the Kuovi’s Youth Centre. The autumn meetings are on 10 September, 8 October, 12 November and 10 December.

The evenings are for all young people under 29 years of age from sexual and gender minorities and those who are thinking about their identity, as well as their friends. The evenings are an opportunity to discuss issues of concern to young people and to make art, bake, play games and make new friends. You are welcome as you are! 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️

The Rauma model of hobbies will continue again from September 15th

Rauma Model for Leisure Activities is Rauma’s implementation of the national Finnish Model for Leisure Activities. The aim of the Finnish model of hobby is to support the well-being of children and young people by enabling every child and young person to have a pleasant and free hobby during the school day. The hobby offer has been chosen according to the wishes of children and young people.
