Nearly 50 Free Hobby Clubs for School-Aged Children and Young People This Autumn – Registration Opens on 1 September 2026

The autumn season of the Rauma Model for Leisure Activities will begin on Monday, 7 September 2026. This autumn, nearly 50 free hobby clubs and more than 700 places are available for pupils in grades 1–9. Registration opens on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, at 2 p.m. Clubs are primarily conducted in Finnish, but all children and young people are welcome to participate regardless of their language background.
In addition to sports-related activities, this autumn’s programme includes creative hobbies, gaming, cooking and literature. This year, the programme has been developed especially based on the wishes of young people, with the aim of encouraging more students in grades 7–9 to participate. Alongside familiar activities such as strength training, bowling and gaming, several new options will also be available.
– Our goal is for every child and young person to find a hobby they enjoy, whether it is a familiar activity or an opportunity to try something completely new. New options aimed especially at young people include the Sportmix group run by Pallo-Iirot, parkour and darts clubs, as well as relaxed social activities that offer opportunities to spend time together, says Sports Coordinator Noora Kallio.
The clubs are organised during or after the school day at schools and other locations across Rauma in cooperation with sports clubs, associations and other leisure activity providers.
– The club programme has expanded since last year, and this autumn around 50 clubs are available. The Rauma Model for Leisure Activities has clearly established its place in the city, and local associations and sports clubs play an active role in creating diverse opportunities for hobbies and leisure activities, Kallio says.
How to Join the Autumn Activities
Registration takes place through the Lyyti service. Registration links will open on Tuesday, 1 September, at 2 p.m. on the registration page for the Rauma Model For Leisure Activities. Applications can be submitted as long as places are available, and participants may join a waiting list for fully booked clubs.
– It is a good idea to explore the available options together with the child or young person before registering. When a hobby is chosen based on personal interests, it is easier to stay committed throughout the season. This also helps ensure that the clubs remain active for the entire season, Kallio says.
A free local bus pass can be applied for if travelling to a hobby activity is difficult or the distance is long. The bus pass is applied for using a separate application form.

The Rauma Model for Leisure Activities offers children and young people the opportunity to try different hobbies free of charge and discover new interests. The programme is developed annually based on the wishes and feedback of children and young people.
