Parking Arrangements Changing on Meriraumantie and Sepänkatu from 24 April 2026

Parking arrangements on Meriraumantie and Sepänkatu will change permanently from alternating-day parking to weekly parking starting on Friday, 24 April 2026.
Under the new arrangement, parking will be prohibited on one side of the street from Monday to Thursday and on the other side from Thursday to Monday, always from 8 a.m. to 8 a.m.
The change is intended to make parking easier for residents living along the streets.
– Due to alternating-day parking, residents had to move their cars from one side of the street to the other every day. Under the new system, cars only need to be moved once a week, which significantly improves parking convenience, says Jari Salminen, Head of Street Maintenance.
Alternating-day parking has been in use on Meriraumantie and Sepänkatu for about a year. The arrangement was originally introduced to facilitate winter maintenance and was applied year-round in order to keep parking arrangements clear.
