Three logo options.
Residents of Rauma and people across Finland are invited to share their views by choosing between three logo options, each reflecting the spirit of the city from a slightly different perspective.

Rauma is renewing its brand and, as part of the process, aims to update its city logo. To support this, the City of Rauma will organise an advisory public vote on the new logo and invites residents and people across Finland to choose between three design options.

The renewed brand will be previewed at Rauma Day on 17 April, when Finland’s third-oldest city celebrates its 584th anniversary.

According to City Mayor Esko Poikela, the logo vote is part of Rauma’s active work to strengthen hospitality and an innovative way to approach municipal marketing.

– One of the most well-known phrases in the Rauma dialect is Ol niingon gotonas – ‘feel at home’. It captures the warmth and openness that are characteristic of Rauma. We want to be known as the most hospitable municipality on the west coast, and why not in all of Finland. Logos are a visible part of a city’s identity. For us, it is important that Rauma continues to feel welcoming and approachable – for current and future residents, businesses, and everyone who visits the city, Poikela says.

Renewed Brand Strengthens Rauma’s Continued Vitality

The new city logo will form part of the renewed brand, which will be launched in May. According to Poikela, the updated brand will better highlight Rauma’s unique strengths, including its strong industrial and business profile, rich World Heritage sites, and maritime character.

– In recent years, Rauma has risen among Finland’s most vibrant cities*, and it continues to aim for strong growth during the current strategy period. Brand development supports this positive momentum moving forward. Rauma is a modern, successful and welcoming city that seeks to attract new residents, businesses, students and visitors, Poikela summarises.

The public logo vote will open Monday April 13th, on the city’s website at www.rauma.fi/logoaanestys and will remain open until Friday April 24th next week. In addition, visitors to Rauma Day on Friday, 17 April, will have the opportunity to share their views on which logo best represents Rauma.
