Traffic arrangements during the construction of the Rauma railway stop were evaluated on-site on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, together with various user groups. Representatives from the Rauma Senior Citizens’ Council, Youth Council, and Council for People with Disabilities participated in the evaluation walk.
The traffic arrangements were praised for their smooth flow and clarity. The arrangements have been successfully implemented in such a way that there has been virtually no construction traffic on pedestrian and bicycle routes. The key pedestrian and bicycle connection through the underpass has also been kept open and at its normal width.
During the assessment walk, the launch of passenger rail service and future access options to the platform area from the city center and the parking lot also sparked discussion.
The walks were organized as part of efforts to promote sustainable mobility and inclusion, for which the City of Rauma has received a government grant from Traficom.
