Wellbeing Week 2025
Rauma’s Hobby and Wellbeing Week will take place from October 6 to 12, 2025. This themed week encourages physical activity, hobbies, and overall wellbeing for children, youth, and families. The program includes a wide range of events—from lectures to water discos. Activities and events will be held from Monday to Sunday for children, young people, and their parents.


Hobby and Wellbeing Week 6.–12.10.2025
Interested in your own or your family’s wellbeing, the joy of movement, finding the right hobby, or strengthening your parenting skills? Tune in! Rauma is celebrating the wellbeing and hobbies of children, youth, and families during Week 41.
From Monday to Sunday, the themed week offers a wide range of free activities: workshops, lectures, trial sessions, experiences, information, movement, and hobbies. The program includes everything from partner acrobatics to a magician’s workshop, a “Supernanny” lecture to a water disco. And don’t miss the Hobby and Wellbeing Fair on Saturday! Program of the Week
Monday 6.10. Exercising & Library Adventure
17:00–18:00 The whole family’s exercise in Karin Kampus’ gymnasium
Fun shared activities for adults and children. The workout includes a warm-up, joint strength exercises for adult and child, followed by a cool-down and stretching. Children of all ages are welcome! Free admission.
18:15–19:15 Words and Pages in a Tangle – Library Adventure at Pyynpää Library. Note: the Library Adventure is in Finnish
The words and pages have gotten all mixed up—come help solve the puzzle and piece the story back together. The program also includes arts and crafts. Free admission. This adventure is designed for primary school children.
Tuesday 7.10. Lecture by Pia Penttala, Rhyme Session & Social Media Workshops (all in Finnish)
18:00–20:00 RAJAT JA RAKKAUS – Tools for Parents of Children of All Ages in Rauma, a lecture at Rauma Hall.
How can parents cope in an unstable and rapidly changing world? What role does common sense play in parenting? How can you learn to trust yourself as a parent? Is parenting a disappearing skill? How do you strike the right balance between being demanding and gentle? The lecture is given by Pia Penttala, a psychotherapist also known as Finland’s “Supernanny.” Free admission.
17:00–17:30 Rhyme and Play Session at Rauma Main Library
This session is designed for children aged 0–4 and their parents. Free admission.
16:00–18:15 Social Media Workshops for Youth (Registration opens 1.9. at 10)
How to film good videos and edit photos? How do I perform in social media videos? How to produce and create good content? Could social media be utilized in future job opportunities? Do you have craft which you would like to advertise, but don’t know where to start? These and many other things you get to do in the workshop.
The workshop offers a diverse introduction to videos, images, editing software, content creation, performing, and promoting your own skills. The workshops are intended for youth aged approximately 12–15. They are held at the Karin Campus, in the meeting room “Riskonpöllä” on the 3rd floor. Meeting point: the campus café lobby.

Wednesday 8.10. Magic Workshops & Free Iirolandia Event
17:00–19:15 Magic Workshops for Children at Kuovi (Registration opens on September 1 at 10:00 AM) Note: the workshop is in Finnish
Join magician Aatu’s workshop—an experienced performer known from numerous shows and TV appearances. In the workshop, you’ll learn not only stage presence but also real magic skills. Discover the secrets of sleight of hand and card tricks, and witness amazing illusions that you’ll be able to perform yourself afterward. And of course, you’ll get to take home your very own balloon animal creation!

17:00–19:45 Free Iirolandia Event for the Whole Family at the Winter Training Hall
During Wellbeing Week, families can enjoy free access to Iirolandia, organized by Pallo-Iirot, at Rauma’s Winter Training Hall.
Iirolandia features a variety of activity stations familiar from last winter. Attractions include a bounce mat, inflatable football arena, air hockey game, pedal car track, balance course, foam modules, and plenty of fun items like stilts, jump ropes, and hula hoops. A large area of the hall is also reserved for different ball games. Iirolandia is designed for children under 12 and their parents.
Thursday 9.10. The Use of Social Media – Online Lecture (in Finnish)
18:00–19:30 What Every Parent Should Know About Their Children’s Social Media Use – Online Lecture
What does social media usage among children in Rauma look like based on collected data? What are the current trends in how children and teens use social media? Join an online lecture by Kaisa Rissanen, Head of the Online Harassment First Aid Unit at Someturva, and gain up-to-date insights into social media phenomena, how social platforms function, and their impact on the mental well-being of children and youth.
The 90-minute session offers a wide range of important information for parents. Register by October 5. You may submit questions for the speaker during registration. Participation links will be sent to registered attendees on October 6.

Friday 10.10. Fortnite Tournament & Water Discos
17:00–20:00 Online Fortnite Tournament starting at 17 for students in grades 5–9
The City of Rauma is organizing a free Fortnite Zone Wars tournament open to everyone, which you can easily join remotely via Discord. The tournament offers a chance to test your skills and challenge other players in Zone Wars.
🏆 Prize: The tournament winner will receive a one-month free membership to Incoach’s Fortnite Club, where you can train with professionals and take your game to the next level.

17:00–20:00 Water Discos at the Karin Campus Swimming Hall, starting at 17
There will be music, disco lights, water toys and an inflatable track. Free disco tickets to both discos can be picked up at the Pyyrmanni starting Monday, September 22! Please remember to bring your ticket on disco night, as it will be exchanged for a swimming wristband.

Saturday 11.10. Hobby and Wellbeing Fair
11:00–16:00 Hobby and Wellbeing Fair at Karin Kampus
At the fair, you’ll find a wide and diverse selection of local sports clubs and associations, along with interactive stations where you can explore various hobbies and wellbeing themes. Highlights include live podcast discussions, hobby horse demonstrations, glitter face painting, acrobatics workshops, and a raffle for a Jopo bicycle. A detailed program will be updated below.
Free Movie Tickets Giveaway: A total of 133 free tickets will be distributed for the brand-new film ”Ella ja kaverit– Operaatio saukko”. The tickets grant access to the screening on Sunday, October 12 at 11:30 at Iso-Hannu Cinema, where the film will be shown in all three auditoriums.
10:00–18:00 Free Swimming Offered by Rauman Energia
As part of its 125th anniversary celebration, Rauman Energia is offering free swimming for everyone. The swimming hall will be open from 10:00 to 18:00.
Sunday 12.10. Movie “Ella ja kaverit – Operaatio saukko” (in Finnish)
11:30 Free Screening of “Ella ja kaverit – Operaatio Saukko” at Iso-Hannu Cinema

Program for the Hobby and Wellbeing Fair
The Hobby and Wellbeing Fair will take place on Saturday, October 11 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Karin Campus. Fair activities will be held in the campus lobby, gymnasium, martial arts hall, and auditorium (Hall 1).
11:00 Event begins – welcome!
Explore dozens of exhibitors in the sports hall and lobby areas. Come and discover a wide range of hobby opportunities in Rauma.
11:00-16:00 Non-stop hobbyhorse activities
Get to know hobbyhorses and try out the jumping course in the campus lobby!
11:30-12:30 Acrobatics in the martial arts hall – Parent and child (ages 5+)
This class focuses on fun parent-child partner acrobatics suitable for all levels. We’ll play together and practice strength and mobility exercises. Child aged 5+ main join, with a maximum of one adult per child.
12:00-15:00 Cuddledogs visiting in the campus lobby
12:45-13:45 Children’s circus school in the martial arts hall (ages 5-8)
An introduction to the basics of acrobatics. We’ll practice somersaults, cartwheels, as well as strength and coordination exercises.
12:50-13:40 Live podcast – The Parent’s role in Children’s Hobbies
A live discussion in auditorium (Hall 1).
14:30-15:30 Handstand workshop in the martial arts hall
Learn to basics of handstands and headstands. No prior experience needed. In addition to technique, we’ll do mobility and strength exercises to support the skills.
14:30-15:15 Live podcast – Is a Sports Hobby the Only “Right” Hobby?
A live discussion in auditorium (Hall 1).
*Acrobatics and circus classes have space for about 20 participants each.
