Fitness trails in Rauma closed due to storm damage
News
Based on information from Sunday afternoon, Rauma’s buildings, areas, and services have not sustained significant damage—except for the fitness trails.
Several trees have fallen on fitness trails and outdoor routes as a result of the storm, also causing damage to power lines. Electricity has been cut off on the trails, so lighting is not operational. The City of Rauma will close all fitness trails and begins a detailed damage assessment on Monday. Updates will be provided when the trails are reopened.
Starting on Monday, December 29, 2025, the City of Rauma will also carry out comprehensive inspections of other public areas and provide further information if necessary. Damage can be reported 24/7 to the Facilities Services emergency number: 0500 723 137. The emergency service handles urgent matters related to city-owned properties or facilities.
Residents are advised to exercise caution and avoid walking under fallen tree trunks. If storm damage is observed on power lines, clearing work must be left to professionals by contacting the electricity network company or the Facilities Services emergency number.
The City of Rauma’s crisis and incident management team has maintained situational awareness, coordinated actions, and managed communications throughout Saturday and Sunday under the leadership of City Manager Esko Poikela.
