Joulevangeeljum Musical Delight in Old Rauma December 19–20 – Note Changes to Traffic Arrangements
News

Christmas in Lace Town culminates in the spectacular Joulevangeeljum musical. The performances, open to everyone and free of charge, will take place in the heart of Old Rauma on Friday, December 19, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, December 20, at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. A public dress rehearsal will be held on Thursday, December 18, at 5 p.m. This will be the last time the musical is performed in Rauma this year.
– Joulevangeeljum has become an essential part of the Christmas experience in Rauma, attracting visitors from far and wide year after year. This will be the last time the play is presented in its current form for the foreseeable future, so we, the creators, feel a little wistful. We are proud of the team spirit among the performers and grateful for all the positive feedback from audiences, says Museum and Culture Director Risto Kupari.
The play takes the audience through Old Rauma
The performance lasts approximately 1,5 hours. The journey begins at the Market Square and continues through the Kalatori Square and ruins of the Church of the Holy Trinity, ending at the Church of the Holy Cross. The total route is about 1,5 kilometers.
The stages feature renowned soloists and performers, including Hannu Lepola from the band Rajattomat, opera singer Vilja-Maria Riutamaa, Kalle Virtanen, winner of The Voice of Finland, and actress Eeva Semerdjiev. The play was written by Arto Myllärinen and composed by Lasse Heikkilä.
– It also involves nearly 300 professionals and amateurs – choirs, bands, dancers, actors, and production staff. Joulevangeeljum is a true community effort and absolutely worth experiencing, says cultural producer Outi Lehtorinne.
