May Day and Ascension Day Affect City Service Opening Hours in 2026
News
May Day will be celebrated from 30 April to 1 May 2026, and Ascension Day on Thursday 14 May 2026. These public holidays will cause changes to the opening hours of some City of Rauma services and facilities.
Service Point Pyyrman
Service Point Pyyrman and the City Hall Information Desk will be closed on 1 May and 14 May.
Property Management Office
The Property Management Office will be closed on 1 May and 14 May.
Libraries
On 30 April, libraries will be open as follows:
- Main Library: 9 am to 3 pm
- Kourujärvi and Pyynpää libraries: 10 am to 3 pm
- Kodisjoki Library: closed
- The library bus will operate morning stops only
On 1 May and 14 May, libraries will be closed. Lappi Library and the Uotila self-service library will be open on both days during their normal self-service hours. Access to self-service libraries requires a library card and a PIN code.
The library bus will operate morning stops only on 13 May. At Lappi Library, only self-service hours will be available on 15 May.

Swimming Hall
The Rauma swimming hall will be open on 30 April from 6 am to 2 pm, and closed on 1 May and 14 May.

- Open on 30 April from 12 pm to 4 pm
- Closed on 1 May
- Open on 2–3 May from 11 am to 4 pm

- Opens for the summer season on 2 May
- Open on 2–3 May from 11 am to 16 pm
- Open on 13 May from 12 pm to 16 pm
- Closed on 14 May
Rauma Art Museum
- Open on 30 April from 12 pm to 16 pm
- Closed on 1 May
- Reopens on 9 May according to normal opening hours
- Closed on 14 May
Youth Centres
Youth Centre Viklo at the Karin kampus will be closed on 30 April, 13 May and 14 May.
Youth Centre Kuovi will be closed on 1–2 May but will be open as usual on 14 May.
Gyyt Public Transit
Rauman Gyyt will operate according to Sunday schedules on 1 May and 14 May.

Waste Management
Hevossuo Waste Treatment Centre will be open on 30 April from 7 am to 6 pm, and closed on 1 May and 14 May.
Rauma Water
Rauma Water’s billing customer service will be open by phone on 30 April from 8 am to 12 pm. Billing services will be closed on 1 May and 14 May.
Employment Services
The Employment Services office on Aittakarinkatu and the information phone line will close at 3 pm on 30 April. Services will be closed on 1 May. In addition, the office will close at 3 pm on 13 May and will be closed on 14 May.
