Program
At the Children’s Culture Weeks, we celebrate the world of dance, music and theatrical experiences! This page features events that can be attended without knowledge of the Finnish language.

Week 1: 2.3.–8.3.
Tue 3.3. 18.00 Puistopartio concert at Rauma Hall
Puistopartio is a children’s music group whose songs are about work machines. Puistopartio’s cheerful and educational videos have gained huge popularity on YouTube.
Duration: 30–40 minutes. After the show you have opportunity to meet Puistopartio group.
Tickets: 8 € / person. Children under 1 year of age can participate free of charge when sitting on their parent’s lap (no separate seat).

NOTE: Before purchasing a ticket, please make sure that your child is not participating in concerts that are reserved for schoolchildren, daycare, or after-school clubs.

Wed 4.3. 16.00–19.00 Museum on call: Lönnström home museum
Museum On Call remedies the craving for cultural experiences in Rauma on Wednesdays.
Lönnström Home Museum will host the Big Botanic Seedlings exhibition, featuring imaginative seedlings created last fall in the Big Botanic workshop. Children can visit the museum’s Dream Your Own Park workshop, where they can build their own small park. In addition, a video guide to the museum by Lönnström’s house mouse can be viewed in the museum’s house mouse corner.

Bring the whole family to enjoy café treats or a meal for free and spend a pleasant evening together!

Spring of the Piano! Resonant Nature and Joyful Animals
A joint concert by the piano students of Rauma Music Institute and the string orchestra Jouskarit. During the intermission, refreshments will be available at the buffet organized by the Support Association of the Rauma Music Institute Children’s Choir.

Sat 14.3. 11.00–14.00 Children’s Saturday in Rauma Maritime Museum
On Children’s Saturday at the Rauma Maritime Museum, the building will be filled with the spirit of the sea! The Maritime Museum will welcome talented young theater performers from Rauma, who will invite visitors of all ages to a theater session at the museum every hour on the hour.
The museum workshop offers maritime crafts. The learning points on the exhibition floor can be explored together with adults and children.
Children’s Saturday is free and open to everyone!

Week 4: 23.3.–29.3.
Mon 23.3. 10.00–10.30 Nursery Rhyme Time (in Finnish)
Nursery rhyme session once a month on Mondays at 10 at the main library. All babies and toddlers are welcome with an adult to play, sing nursery rhymes, sing songs, and chat with others! The guided part lasts about 20 minutes.

Story time in Finnish in the children’s section of the main library once a month on Tuesdays. A different theme each time. Welcome!

Wed 25.3. 16.00–19.00 Museum on call: Marela
During the time the entrance fee is voluntary.
For the younger members of the family, Marela has activities for master detectives! In the first search task, you will tour the museum’s permanent exhibition and try to find all the items on the task sheet. In the second search task, you will explore the The Story of Rauma Lace exhibition and help a lace maker find her lost items. Those who complete the tasks will receive a sweet surprise. Come and find out who is the master detective in your family!

The music group Kakrut traditional spring concert features familiar Finnish pop classics performed in Kakrut’s unique style.
Duration: approx. 45 minutes
Price: €10/€5 (children, elementary school age)
Tickets are available from Kakrut and at the door before the concert.
