Dog parks
There are three dog parks in the city area
The city’s Parks Department (Wihertoimi) maintains three fenced dog parks:
- Kaivopuistontie Dog Park, Kaivopuistontie
- Sinisaari Dog Park, with separate areas for small and large dogs, Sahanpolku
- Lajo Dog Park, Naula Jussin polku
Rules for the dog parks
- Remember, you are always responsible for your dog and its behavior.
- Do not bring unvaccinated, sick, aggressive, or female dogs in heat to the park.
- Make sure your dog gets along with other dogs.
- Do not throw sticks, snowballs, or stones.
- Ensure that your dog does not disturb the neighborhood’s peace between 10 pm and 7 am by barking.
- Keep the area clean and dispose of your dog’s waste in the trash bin.
- Close the gate when entering and leaving.
- Never leave your dog unattended in the park.
- Dogs must be off-leash inside the enclosure, and it’s recommended to remove collars and harnesses while playing.
