Abandoned Boats and Trailers Must Be Collected by March 5, 2027

Owners of boats and trailers have four months to collect their property. The four-month period begins on the publication date of the notice, November 5, 2026.
A total of 13 boats and three trailers abandoned by their owners are currently being stored in the fenced winter storage area at Kappelinsalmi and the Petäjäs dock area. The boats and trailers have been stored in violation of the boat storage guidelines.
Six of the boats are located in the Petäjäs dock area and seven in the Kappelinsalmi storage area. All three trailers are located in the Kappelinsalmi storage area.
The owners of the abandoned boats and trailers must collect their property by March 5, 2027.
Operations Manager Pekka Yli-Kauhaluoma reminds that the boats and trailers will only be released to their owners and that a fee based on the costs incurred for moving them will be charged.
“If an owner does not collect their boat or trailer within four months, it will be disposed of in March or April 2027,” he adds.
