Autumn break will be celebrated in Rauma’s early childhood education, basic education, and upper secondary school from October 20th to 26th. Children and young people can look forward to engaging activities throughout the week.

Diverse Autumn Break Activities for Youth

On the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, October 21–22, Viklo Youth Center at the Karin Campus will host a Night at the youth center -event for students in grades 7–9. The evening includes movie screenings, cooking, and relaxed hangouts. The event is limited to 25 participants, and advance registration is required (registration form is in Finnish).

On Thursday, October 23 from 4–8 PM, the Karin Campus transforms into a haunted house for the Halloween-themed “Kampus goes dark” event organized by Nuorten Rauma. The evening features thriller movies, face painting, and spooky book tips. The event is open to youth aged 12–19, and Viklo Youth Center will be open throughout.

On Friday, October 24 from 5–8 PM, Kuovi Youth Center will host a Halloween disco for students in grades 5–6. Expect themed activities and fun together!

During autumn break, Kuovi Youth Center is open on Saturday, October 25 from 5–10 PM. Viklo Youth Center is open on Tuesday, October 21 from 3–8 PM, Wednesday, October 22 from 3–8 PM and Thursday, October 23 from 4–8 PM.

Family-Friendly Outdoor Event at Pyytjärvi

On Tuesday, October 21 from 6–8 PM, families are invited to explore the bug trail at Pyytjärvi. As evening falls, participants can walk the forest path at their own pace, searching for sparkling reflectors and bug-themed signs.

Rauma’s sports services will maintain a campfire area where you can grill your own sausages and marshmallows. It is recommended to wear rubber boots and bring a flashlight or headlamp.

The bug trail and campfire site are a short walk from the Pyytjärvi trailhead at the end of Uudenlahdentie.

Photo Orienteering and Lace Puzzles at Marela

The Shipowner’s Home Museum Marela offers free admission on Wednesday, October 22 from 4–7 PM. Visitors can take part in photo orienteering and solve lace-themed puzzles related to the exhibition The Story of Rauma Lace.

On Thursday, October 23, Marela celebrates Finnish Handicrafts Day. A lace-maker will be present from 12–5 PM, and a guided tour of the lace exhibition will start at 1 PM. Regular admission fees apply.

Marela always offers free entry for visitors under 18.

Autumn Fun for Children at Rauma Main Library

The Reading Castle in the children’s section of Rauma Main Library offers seasonal activities throughout the autumn break, including coloring pages, autumn-themed exercises, and picture puzzles.

Reading dog Loru will visit the library on October 21 from 5–6 PM. Four children can participate, each with a 15-minute reading slot.
