Construction work related to Rauma’s passenger train service will result in temporary traffic arrangements in the Papinpelto area. Due to the construction of the parking area serving train passengers and the upcoming construction work on Leikarinkatu, Leikarinpolku will be closed to traffic starting June 22. Pedestrians and cyclists will be directed to use a detour via Kuovinkuja.
Leikarinpolku will be widened and the connection will be renamed Leikarinkatu. The street will provide access to a new park-and-ride area with approximately 100 spaces. The completed area will also be accessible via Itsenäisyydenkatu.
Continuous feedback on the effectiveness of the temporary traffic arrangements related to the construction of the rail stop is being collected from mobility agents. The deadline for registering as a mobility agent has been extended until June 22.
Any resident of the City of Rauma or anyone who regularly travels in the target area can register as an agent. A monthly prize of a 10-ride travel card for Rauman Gyyt will be raffled off among active mobility agents.
