Roadworks on the Pohjoiskehä Cycle Path from 29 July to 7 August 2026 – Changes to Pedestrian and Cycling Routes

Maintenance work on the Pohjoiskehä cycle path will begin on Wednesday, 29 July, on the section between Hirvitie and Maatähdentie. The work is expected to continue until Friday, 7 August, but may extend into the following week depending on weather conditions and the progress of the work.
During the maintenance work, the cycle path will be closed to traffic. Pedestrians and cyclists will be directed to a detour route via Kauristie, Paloahteenpolku, Paloahteenvahe and Paloahteentie.
As part of the maintenance work, a geogrid will be installed beneath the pavement. The geogrid helps prevent cracking and improves the durability of the structure.
Following this phase, asphalt paving work will continue on the section between Maatähdentie and the closed section of Sorkantie.
The asphalt contractor for the project is Asfalttikallio Oy.
