Strong Growth in Rauma Sub-Region’s Gross Domestic Product

The gross domestic product (GDP) of the Rauma sub-region grew significantly in 2023 compared to the previous year. At current prices, Rauma’s GDP amounted to €55,831 per inhabitant, which is 18.9 percent more than in 2022, when the corresponding figure was €46,951. The figures come from Statistics Finland’s release on November 28.
The three-year development confirms the positive trend in the Rauma sub-region. In Rauma, GDP has risen steadily from €45,821 (2021) to €46,951 (2022), and further to €55,831 (2023).
Based on these figures, Rauma has emerged as the driving force of economic development in Satakunta, as the sub-region’s growth has been exceptionally strong compared to other areas.
GDP per inhabitant reflects the value added generated in the sub-region relative to its population, and the indicator calculated at current prices takes into account the price level of the given year.
