The local defense exercise Kinetic Stone 26, led by the Pori Brigade, will be visible in Rauma between March 1 and 5, 2026.
In addition to the Pori Brigade, troops from the Armored Brigade, Karelia Brigade, Uusimaa Brigade, and Coastal Fleet will participate in the exercise. During the exercise, vehicles, armed soldiers, and drones will be moving around the Rauma area.
Efforts will be made to avoid causing disturbance and inconvenience to outsiders, but the exercise may cause temporary traffic disruptions and noise nuisance. The noise hazard area has been taken into account when using training ammunition.
The exercise will develop the implementation of local defense in cooperation with other authorities. The aim of the exercise is to train personnel and educate reservists and conscripts in local defense tasks, such as protecting targets, area control, and providing official assistance to other authorities. The exercise aims to secure, for example, transport connections, energy supply, and the functioning of information networks in the event of a disruption, as well as to prevent the situation from spreading to a wider area.
In addition to local defense, the central theme of the exercise is multi-agency cooperation. The topics of the exercise include providing assistance and forming a common situation picture between different authorities. Participants in the exercise include the Southwest Finland Police Department and the Southwest Finland Welfare Region.
