The Lumen Light Art Event has Established its Popularity in Rauma
News

The Lumen light art event was held in Rauma for the sixth time on January 14–17, 2026. This year, the event featured 11 different artworks and seven additional locations. Once again, it attracted a large number of visitors, with an estimated 10,000 people viewing each artwork. The next Lumen event will take place on January 13–16, 2027.
The undisputed highlight of this year’s event was Niko Tiainen’s Translucens, which delighted visitors at Kanalinmutka and was showcased in Satakunta for the first time. TipTop Walkers’ Snow Queen, King Kuuraparta, and Narri Puikko were especially popular among families with children, entertaining the audience on both Friday and Saturday.
Lumen was once again made possible through the strong collaboration between Rauman Energia, Osuuskauppa Keula, and the City of Rauma, enabling a high‑quality and free event.
– The event featured works by both local and international artists, making the overall experience diverse and high‑quality. Many local shops and restaurants extended their opening hours, giving visitors the opportunity to stop in for some shopping while exploring the artworks, says Museum and Culture Director Risto Kupari.
According to Kupari, the event further strengthened its position as one of Satakunta’s most significant regularly organized winter events.
Feedback and development suggestions for the Lumen light art event are being collected through an electronic visitor survey (in Finnish) at lumenrauma.fi. Visitor numbers and feedback will be used in planning future events to ensure their quality and appeal. The organizers have already begun planning the next three years of the Lumen event series.
Photos and impressions from the event can be found on the Lumen Rauma Facebook page and on Instagram @lumenrauma.
